ABSTRACT
Hydroponic has many benefits compared with conventional agriculture, such as; rapid rate, water irrigation saving, continuous production throughout the year and soil needless. Romaine lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) is a popular salad vegetable and consumption of lettuce has many health benefits. In the current study, we made comparison between Lettuce in hydroponic versus land (conventional) agriculture by measuring growth parameters; morphology, chlorophyll content and protein. Lettuce hydroponically showed significant better growth than conventional at all morphological parameters; shoot and root length, number of leaves, fresh and dry weight of shoot and root. Also, the significant difference for proteins.
